  • Waves and high tide brought down Tran Le street in Binh Thuan

    The landslide area is nearly 500m long and more than 20m deep inland. Many empty blocks of people who used to live here were also swept away by waves, leaving only bare nails. Over the past 2 days, high waves and high tide have brought down the only coastal road in Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province. At the risk of hundreds of isolated households, local authorities are urgently opening another sandy road for vehicles to travel. Due to strong winds combined with many large waves continuously hitting the shore, Tran Le street - gravel road leading to Cau Tau residential area, belonging to Tien Duc and Tien Binh hamlets, Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province collapsed and drifted with water.

  • Unusual hail in Ho Chi Minh City due to prolonged dry season

    In the evening of April 25, hail appeared in the northern area of Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas. The size of hail grain is about 0.5cm, the rain lasts for a few minutes. Although hail has not caused damage, but it also makes people worried. According to Le Thi Xuan Lan - Former Deputy Head of Forecasting Department of Southern Meteorology and Hydrology Station, hail in Ho Chi Minh City did not happen for the first time. In some years of prolonged dry season, this phenomenon happened. Hail occurred in the plain is quite unusual, the size of hail grain ever recorded is about 0.5-1cm.
