Warning of flash floods, landslides and local flooding in the Northern

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydrometeorology, in the past 6 hours (from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.), the provinces of Bac Bo have had rain, moderate rain, and some places with heavy to very heavy rain such as: Kien Thiet (Tuyen Quang) 122.2mm ; Quat Dong (Quang Ninh) 88mm; Dai Tu (Thai Nguyen) 69.4mm; Vinh Lac (Yen Bai) 68.8mm; Lap Trach (Vinh Phuc) 66.7mm… It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, Bac Bo area will continue to rain, moderate to heavy rain, in some places very heavy rain with accumulated rainfall from 50-90mm, in some places over 120mm.
Warning: Risk of flash floods, landslides and flooding in low-lying areas in Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, and Lang Son provinces , Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang, Hoa Binh (details are in Table 1 and Figure 1 in the Appendix). Disaster risk level: level 1.

People are advised to:

- Always be alert, take precautions when there are signs of flash floods, landslides, especially when there is heavy rain for a long time, and notify the authorities and people around when there are unusual signs.

- Regularly monitor the warning information on the mass media and the government

- Stay away from high-risk areas, be ready to evacuate according to the instructions of local authorities

- Run quickly out of danger to areas with safe locations.
