The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Vietnam introduces a new cartoon about climate change on the occasion of Earth Day on April 22, 2020. The cartoon is named after the superhero character - Hai Moc Nhi - a girl with incredible power, who can awaken and gather everyone to unite against climate change to save Earth. . The animation is based on the story and paintings of 12-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Gia Han living in Hanoi. Nguyen Ngoc Gia Han shared: "With this story, I want to tell everyone that climate change is threatening the lives of all of us and only when we are united, then we can protect ourselves The super power of Hai Moc Nhi - our super strength is the power of the fairy dragon, the super strength of the mountains and the sea, which is available in every Vietnamese person. " International evidence shows that children are most vulnerable with the effects of climate change and environmental degradation. Vietnam is one of the countries most severely affected by climate change, which could undermine many achievements in the field of child survival and development, as well as lead to many future hazards.

"The 50th anniversary of Earth Day this year, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, has given us a valuable lesson about how we must treasure and protect the only Earth we have. It also reminds us of how precious life is, how important the fresh air is to our lungs, how valuable water is used for our health, Help protect us from disease - the whole world can come together to solve big problems, but we need to take action today to ensure the future of our children, "said Rana Flowers, UNICEF Viet Nam Representative. Nguyễn Ngọc Gia Hân won third prize in the Compositions of Superhero Characters Repelling Disaster and Climate Change by UNICEF, Vietnam Disaster Management Authority - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Central Youth Council Uong coordinated to organize, with the companion of singer Le Cat Trong Ly. The event called on children across Vietnam to create a superhero character that could save the earth and fight natural disasters and climate change. Hai Moc Nhi has been adapted into a cartoon by DeeDee Animation Studio, a company in Vietnam, to support UNICEF.

Mr.Dang Hai Quang, Founder and CEO of Dee Dee Animation Studio, said: "The imagination of children is unlimited. Turning their ideas into images is really fun but also very challenge. With this animation, we hope to contribute to raising public awareness about climate change as well as encouraging children to develop their creativity to express themselves. " The winner of the first prize The Compositions of Superhero Characters pushing back natural disasters and climate change will also be adapted into cartoons and is expected to be introduced at the end of 2020. Earth Day 22/4 has been recognized by the United Nations since 2009, becoming an annual event organized worldwide, recognizing the value of the Earth's natural environment, calling for the active participation of each person to join hands to protect the planet. Climate change is one of the world's biggest challenges in the future. Accordingly, the theme Earth Day April 22, 2020, was chosen by the United Nations as "Climate Action" ./.
