The North continues to have heavy to very heavy rain, risk of flash floods and landslides

15:31:35, 13/08/2020 In the early morning of July 29, the area of high wind convergence continued to maintain and cause thunderstorms to the Northern region, local with heavy to very heavy rain. Moderate rain, heavy rain continued in the North until July 31st.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecast, early in the morning of July 29, the high wind convergence area continued to maintain and cause thunderstorms in the Northern region, with heavy to very heavy rain locally. Moderate rain, heavy rain continued in the North until 31/7.

Particularly, the area of Vietnam in the North this morning has moderate rain, some places with heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 20-50mm / 12h, in some places over 70mm, whirlwinds, lightning, hail and wind gust occur strong.

Government and local people need to care about the risk of flash floods, landslides and local inundation in Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan and Cao Bang and Thai Nguyen.

Detailed forecasts for the day and night areas of July 29: In the Northwest, there are clouds, showers and thunderstorms in the morning; afternoon and night with scattered showers and thunderstorms, local with moderate rain, heavy rain with whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong winds. Lowest temperature 24-27 degrees C; highest 31-34 degrees C, some places above 34 degrees C.

The Northeast is cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms in some places; evening and night with scattered showers and thunderstorms, local with moderate rain, heavy rain, the possibility of whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong winds. Southeast winds are level 2-3. Lowest temperature 25-28 degrees C; highest 32-35 degrees C, some places above 35 degrees C.

Hanoi area is cloudy, hot , sometimes with rains and thunderstorms, local with moderate rain, heavy rain. Southeast winds are level 2-3. During a thunderstorm, a tornado, lightning, hail and strong winds can occur. Lowest temperature 25-28 degrees C; highest 32-35 degrees C, some places above 35 degrees C.

Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue with clouds, hot, scattered rains and thunderstorms in the evening, whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong winds can occur in thunderstorms. Lowest temperature 26-29 degrees C; highest 33-36 degrees C, some places above 36 degrees C.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan: cloundy,  sunny and hot; in the evening and at night there are rains and thunderstorms in some places, whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong winds are likely. Southwest to South winds level 2-3. Lowest temperature 25-28 degrees C; highest 32-35 degrees Celsius, the North somewhere over 35 degrees C.

The Central Highlands and the South are cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms in some places; Particularly in the evening there are scattered rains and thunderstorms, with moderate rain and heavy rain locally. Southwest wind is level 2-3. During a thunderstorm, a tornado, lightning and strong winds can occur.

The lowest temperature in the Central Highlands is 20-23 degrees C, the highest is 30-33 degrees C. The lowest temperature in the South is 24-27 degrees C; highest 31-34 degrees C, some places above 34 degrees C. /.
