It is forecasted that in October and November, the East Sea will welcome strong storms. The storms in the last months of the season will focus on the central provinces. Head of Weather Forecasting Department (National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting) Tran Quang Nang said that from now to the end of 2020, there will still be about 6-8 storms and tropical depressions appearing in the East Sea. There are about 4-6 attacks can directly affect the mainland of Vietnam. In particular, in October and November, there will be a storm in the East Sea. The storms in the last months of the season will focus on the central provinces

It is forecasted that in October and November, the East Sea will welcome strong storms. The storms in the last months of the season will focus on the central provinces.

Due to the late arrival of the typhoon season, in the beginning of the year 2021, late storms may appear, mainly affecting the southern regions such as the South Central Coast.

Mr. Nang noted that the storms come constantly, so there is a high risk of multiple natural disasters, seriously threatening people's lives and property.

Therefore, for the provinces in the Central, South Central and South regions, in the coming time, it is necessary to proactively respond to synchronous solutions to minimize the damage caused by storms.

“According to our forecasts, around October 6-10 in the South China Sea, there may appear a tropical depression that is likely to strengthen into a storm. However, this is initially assessed information and will still have to be adjusted.

When we have accurate information and ensure reliability, we will issue an official newsletter to disaster prevention agencies, ”added Mr. Nang.

According to him, the Central Coast region is characterized by a steep terrain, so it is important to pay attention to inundation in the plain, flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas.
