Hoa Binh has 138 lakes, dams and irrigation works that need to be upgraded and repaired

10:11:35, 18/06/2020 According to the report on checking the prevention of natural disasters and the system of irrigation works before raining season in 2020 of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh province, currently there are 138 lakes in the province. Dams and irrigation works are damaged and degraded and need to be upgraded and repaired.

Including 123 lakes, dams containing irrigation water. Dams damages are mainly items such as seepage through the dam body and foundation, erosion and landslides in upstream, downstream, leaking water intake.

To ensure the safety of lakes and dams in the rainy season in 2020. Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh province suggested that localities should strengthen the management, regularly check the safety quality of dams and reservoirs for irrigation water.

In particular, focusing on mobilizing resources and local people to invest in repairing and upgrading damaged lakes, dams, and small degradation.

In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh also emphasized that the locality should proactively prepare adequate supplies to respond promptly to possible situations. It is necessary to pay attention to and promote activities in propaganda, raise people's awareness about the importance of natural disaster prevention and fighting, and participate in protecting irrigation works in the area.
