Hail in Lao Cai caused many damages to crops and houses

9:5:57, 23/03/2020 The time of hail lasts an average of about 10 minutes, the average size of an ice is 0.5cm, particularly in Si Ma Cai the size of an ice is about 3-5cm causes many crops and property to be damaged.


Hail appeared in Cam Duong commune, Lao Cai city.

Due to the influence of the high wind convergence zone, combined with cold air, from the night of March 17 to the morning of March 18, the whole area of Lao Cai province has had moderate and heavy rain combined with hail caused many damages to property and crops of local people.

Some localities such as Lung Cai, Ta Cu Ty (Bac Ha district), San Chai, Nan San, Si Ma Cai town (Si Ma Cai district), Lung Khau Nhin, Nam Lu, and Muong Khuong Town (Muong Khuong district) and some communes in Bat Xat and Bao Thang districts have hail with light intensity.

The time of hail lasts an average of about 10 minutes, the average size of an ice is about 0.5cm, particularly in Si Ma Cai the average size of the ice is about 3-5cm. Average rainfall measured in Bao Yen is 86mm, Van Ban 81mm, Sa Pa 48mm, Bac Ha 44mm ....
