Dien Bien: Hail covered rice fields and home gardens

Hail damage some areas of rice and crops.

About 15:30 on March 22, strong winds and rains occurred in some communes of Dien Bien district and Muong Ang district (Dien Bien province), accompanied by hail. 

In Hua Thanh commune, Dien Bien district, hail with a diameter of about 1-1.2cm. 

Although the raindrops are not large, the relatively dense density has damaged some people's corrugated iron roofs, many crops and trees have also been damaged.

After the rain, white stone cleared some rice fields, two sides of the road,gardens ... According to the people of Hua Thanh commune, it has been a long time in the area where the long hail occurred with such a thick density. In addition to Hua Thanh, hail also occurs in the communes of Thanh Nua, Muong Phang (Dien Bien district) and some communes of Muong Ang district, Dien Bien province. There are no statistics of damage caused by hail. The Hydrometeorology Station of Dien Bien Province warns that in the coming hours, this cloudy area is likely to cause rains and thunderstorms for Dien Bien Dong district and spread to Dien Bien district, Dien Bien city. During thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds are likely to occur.
