Anti-erosion embankment subsided, 'threatening' Mau Temple in Vinh Phuc

15:1:23, 04/07/2023 The embankment work against erosion of Pho Day river in Mau temple area (Lap Thach district, Vinh Phuc province) has just been completed and has subsided and seriously damaged.

On July 3, the Investment Project Management Board for the construction of agricultural and rural development projects in Vinh Phuc province said that, on the night of June 28, the right bank of Pho Day river, the section through Son Dong commune, Lap Thach district, will be exported. cracks appear, then widens from the riverbank to the Mau temple.
This is the second time since 2022, this area has had landslides and subsidence incidents. In addition, in the area where the incident occurred, there were also large cracks, especially in the Mau Temple courtyard.
A representative of the Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management Board of Vinh Phuc province said that the construction unit is using appropriate materials to prevent water from entering the temple area.

Vinh Phuc Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is also hiring an independent unit to inspect the work to find out the cause of the incident; thereby clarifying the responsibilities of the parties involved and offering appropriate remedial solutions.
It is known that immediately after the incident, Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee asked to stop all normal activities of the Mau Temple, blockade and protect the scene, not to let people in and out of the dangerous area.
Lap Thach District People's Committee also directed and coordinated the relocation of functional agencies to protect the property of Mau Temple. Accordingly, the statues, tables and chairs... have been moved to a safe storage place.

The work to handle landslides in Pho Day river in the area of ​​Tem Mau temple and Phu Binh II pumping station in Son Dong commune was urgently decided by the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province, with a total investment of 19.5 billion VND.
The investor is the Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management Board of Vinh Phuc province. The construction and installation unit is a joint venture between Phu Thanh An Construction and Development Investment Joint Stock Company - Long Khanh Trading and Investment Construction Company Limited.
From the end of 2022, Vinh Phuc Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a document emphasizing that "the construction unit is responsible for making and submitting to the investor for approval the design of construction methods, in which specific regulations measures to ensure safety for people, machines, equipment and adjacent works".


The new construction from the end of 2022 has been damaged twice so far.
