Local authorities need to promptly update forecast information to adjust production plans to suit changes in water sources and take proactive measures to prevent and combat drought and salinity, rationally operate the system, and check the salinity before taking water, limiting water drainage, increasing the ability to take water as soon as possible during the period of reduced saline intrusion.

* The Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) has just issued a document to direct member power companies in the southern provinces to coordinate with the locality to develop a plan to ensure supply of electricity for irrigation, drought and saline intrusion. With areas suffering from severe saline drought in the Mekong Delta such as Tien Giang and Ben Tre, EVNSPC has promptly invested in new installations, increasing the capacity of dozens of substations to ensure electricity supply to serve water pumping stations. agriculture in key areas.

* In the early days of spring, coastal people in Quang Ngai, Quang Nam focused on exploiting rice snails. On average, each fisherman can rake six barrels of rice per day (20 to 30 kg / barrel), and sell to traders for 240,000 VND / barrel, generating an income of more than 1 million VND / day.

* Binh Thuan province currently has 49 irrigation reservoirs of all kinds being exploited and used with a total design capacity of 426 million m3. The province has just reviewed and assessed the current situation and implemented measures to upgrade and repair irrigation dams and lakes to ensure safety. Through a review, 19 reservoirs were damaged and there was a high risk of unsafety when storing water; in which, Song Mong and Ca Giay lakes were seriously damaged.

* In Tien Giang province, in the winter-spring crop of 2020-2021, the whole province can seed nearly 51,700 ha, reaching more than 98% of the planned target. By the beginning of March 2021, the locality harvested more than 36,500 ha of winter-spring rice crop with an average yield of more than 70 quintals / ha and an output of about 260,000 tons. The price of rice purchased by traders is higher than the same period from 1,900 to 2,500 VND / kg, farmers earn interest from 33 to 34 million VND / ha.

* In Nghe An, at present, the price of green vegetables has decreased significantly compared to before the Lunar New Year 2021. The prices of cilantro, lettuce, vegetables ... decreased by 20% to 30%. In famous vegetable growing areas in districts of Nghi Loc, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Quynh Luu ... the number of people coming to the fields to buy has decreased significantly. Currently, a number of localities plan to coordinate with the agricultural sector and related branches in planning specific areas for specialized cultivation of clean vegetables according to the market demand.
 
* Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has just provided emergency aid to communes and vocational schools in Quang Tri province, including: Cam Thuy commune (Cam Lo district); Phong Binh commune (Gio Linh district); Hien Thanh commune (Vinh Linh district); Hai Thuong commune (Hai Lang district); Trieu Trach commune (Trieu Phong district); Thuan commune (Huong Hoa district); Mo O commune (Dakrong district) and Quang Tri Technical College to repair a number of essential infrastructure projects damaged by natural disasters, with a total value of 300,000 USD.
