A story of residents who avacuated by flood in Hue

11:6:29, 21/01/2021 "I HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE" - After the storm No. 5, the international name was Noul, then the flood of history came over, making the people of Central Vietnam, whose life is hard all year round, more destitute now, Ms. Le Thi Phuong, 70 years old, from Quang Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province is one of the resident severely affected by the last flood.

“The floods rose quickly and quickly, making her unable to clean the house. The family has only two elderly grandparents and two young children, one 7 years old and three years old. Her parents have not returned from working far away from work. " - Mrs. Phuong said as she escaped to take advantage of the wet rice grains left over from the flood. She recalled that the floodwaters were rising quickly, it was pitch dark because of the power outage, but only adults and children in the family did not dare to run away.

Before the flood came, Ms. Phuong also managed to harvest 7 bags of rice. "This amount of rice is intended to be enough for the two of us to eat all year round, but now it's all wet." - Mrs. Phuong chirped and pointed at the pile of rice drying in the corner of the yard. However, this year, the floodwaters increased suddenly, all 7 bags of rice were all wet, and could only be kept for poultry food. Mrs. Phuong said slowly: “Saying that, my family doesn't have any chickens and ducks to feed. She raised nearly 20 chickens, of which 4 laid eggs daily for their children to eat, but were swept away by the floods ”. So all the wealth harvested after 4 months of farming and the poultry daily meals were swept away by the floods, she could only rely on the help from the donors.

The season nearing seeds is almost here, Ms. Phuong thought anxiously: "This winter, she must not know what to eat". Her parents work as assistant builders, but because of the COVID-19 epidemic, they cannot do it very often.

Having been raged by the COVID-19 epidemic, the Central region has stopped flooding this year and then storms. When asked if she was afraid of the coming storms in Quang Dien district, how would she live at that time, she smiled innocently and honestly, a farmer, calmly said: "Yes What's more, your house has nothing to lose anymore! ".
