I. DEVELOPMENTS
- Early morning on August 8, the low pressure area in the North East Sea strengthened into a tropical depression. At 04:00, the center of the tropical depression was at about 19.1 degrees North latitude; 118.2 degrees East longitude, in the sea area east of the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was at level 6 (39-49km/h), gusting to level 8; moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 10-15km/h.
- At noon on August 9, the tropical depression weakened into a low pressure area. At 13:00 on August 9, the center of the low pressure area was at about 19.3 degrees North latitude; 116.8 degrees East longitude. The strongest wind in the center of the low pressure area decreased to below level 6 (below 39km/h).
II. DIRECTION AND RESPONSE
- The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment issued Official Dispatch No. 5302/CD-BNNMT dated August 8, 2025 on responding to tropical depressions in the East Sea.
